The Story of Rolling Stock Shoreditch

From The Weigh Inn to Rolling Stock

Hidden under the arches of the East London line in Hoxton, Rolling Stock traces its roots to the early 1980s. Originally opened as The Weigh Inn, this family-run venue became the first licensed music and dance destination in Shoreditch. Decades of legendary parties, unforgettable music, and a loyal local following cemented its place in East London nightlife history.

Evolution Through the Decades

After a successful run in the ’80s and ’90s, The Weigh Inn closed, making way for a fresh chapter as Rolling Stock in the 2010s. The space evolved, serving as a rehearsal and recording studio for up-and-coming London musicians, before transforming into a late-night bar and club known for hosting the best of house music.

Embracing Change and Growth

Following the pandemic, Rolling Stock expanded with a fully licensed, thriving garden—covered and heated for winter, and a sun-soaked BBQ spot in the summer. The venue now stands as a true social hub, with a main arch housing the bar and kitchen in a speakeasy-inspired, quirky setting. The Bunker—a hidden club under the arches—hosts club nights and curated music events every weekend.
